Process
Every garden I design is completely bespoke, shaped by your unique needs and aspirations. I believe in a collaborative approach, where we work together to create a garden that reflects your vision while benefiting from my expertise. Whether it's a compact city space or a large country garden, the process is flexible and tailored to you, ensuring you have full agency over the design of your outdoor sanctuary.

Getting to know you…
Once you get in touch, I’ll ask you to send me a couple of photos of your garden and fill in a Client Questionnaire to collect your ideas, wish list, and budget. We’ll then meet at your home to walk through your garden and discuss your vision. From here, I’ll create a detailed Estimate and Client Brief for you to approve before any work begins.
Site Survey & Analysis
The process starts with a detailed survey, measuring and photographing your garden to create a scaled plan for design. I usually do this myself, but for larger or more complex sites, I may recommend a Professional Surveyor for a topographical survey.

Design Stage 1-
Mood Board
Now the excitement begins! I create a mood board with inspiring garden images, materials, and plants to help you visualise the feel of your new space.
Concept
An initial sketch brings your garden layout to life, incorporating all elements from the Client Brief. We’ll have a meeting at this stage to make sure everything is on track.

Presentation Plan
A detailed 2D plan of your garden, including materials and key features, drawn to scale with a hand drawn section elevation drawing. I also offer 3D CAD renders at an additional cost for a clear visualisation of your new garden.
Design Stage 2-
Detailing
A black and white version of the plan with measurements and spot heights for contractors to follow. If you’re adding bespoke features like lighting or an outdoor kitchen, I’ll include detailed construction drawings to ensure precision.

Design Stage 3-
Planting Design
This is where your garden comes to life. I’ll select plants tailored to your garden’s soil, aspect, and style, and present a Plant Palette for your input. If your garden only needs new planting, you can choose this service on its own.
Building & Planting
I work with highly skilled landscape contractors to bring the design to reality. If selecting a contractor feels daunting, I can help gather quotes from trusted professionals.
For the plants, I source the best plants from local nurseries and personally oversee planting with my team.

Aftercare
If you’re ready to care for your new garden but need guidance, I can provide a tailored aftercare document with plant care instructions.
Alternatively, I offer a maintenance service to keep your garden thriving- minimum contract: 3 hours per season.
